Join us in demanding that Biden drop the charges against Assange

Julian Assange is a political prisoner of the US empire. His unjust imprisonment represents an attack on press freedom and an attempt to cover up the truth of the horrors committed by the US war machine. Today, April 11th, the International Peoples’ Assembly (IPA) is mobilizing to call on US President Joe Biden to drop the charges against Assange.

In 2006, Julian Assange founded WikiLeaks to publish leaked classified government documents that reveal crimes committed by those in power. WikiLeaks has published countless reports exposing the U.S. Government’s war crimes, coverups, and civilian murders. In 2010, WikiLeaks published ‘Collateral Murder,’ a video of the 2007 Baghdad airstrike that killed more than a dozen people.

On April 11, 2019, Assange was forcibly arrested at the Ecuadorian embassy in London by the Metropolitan Police and brought to Belmarsh Prison where he remains today. From there, he appeals against his extradition to the United States, where he could face up to 175 years in prison.

The real reason for Assange’s imprisonment is clear: to serve as an example in an attempt to silence the voices that cry for justice and an end to all wars.

As the IPA we actively fight for Assange’s freedom, in defense of the truth and against brutal U.S. imperialism. Join us in demanding that Biden drop the charges against Assange!
