A call for solidarity with the Palestinian people in commemoration of Land Day
Wednesday, March 30, 2022 marks the 46th anniversary of the historic anti-colonial struggles waged by the Palestinian people. On this day in 1976, Zionist militias launched a large-scale assault on Palestinian cities and villages in order to occupy their lands and steal their homes. In response to the attacks, mobilizations took place that the Israeli army suppressed with live ammunition.
Today, the systematic dispossession of the Palestinian people from their land by the Zionist colonizers continues with the displacement and eviction of people and subsequent demolition of their homes, the razing and seizing of lands and water, cutting down trees, burning of agricultural crops, and ethnic cleansing. This is in addition to the persecution of thousands of prisoners, many of whom fought and are fighting with hunger strikes in defense of human dignity.
Nevertheless, Palestinian people continue their battle for their legitimate rights. They fight for the return of refugees, their lands, their homes, and for the building of their democratic state on their entire national soil. This anti-colonial struggle is backed by free peoples and people’s organizations of the world.
The Palestinian cause inhabits the conscience of all people and progressive and struggling forces globally, so we call on all the organizations and movements of the IPA to express their solidarity to commemorate Land Day and support the Palestinian people’s struggles. We call for the condemnation of normalization with the Zionist entity backed by global imperialism, the enemy of all peoples of the world.
