US Imperialism Destroys, the People of Haiti Build!

In recent years, the Haitian people have lived under a constant siege imposed by United States imperialism and reinforced by the complicity of right-wing forces across the world.

Today, Port-au-Prince, the nation’s capital, is dominated by armed gangs that displace entire communities. Improvised camps multiply under inhumane conditions, where even the most basic services—water, electricity, and waste collection—are scarce and costly. The inaction of the Presidential Transitional Council leaves communities at the mercy of violence, driving the rise of self-defense groups that, over time, have armed themselves to confront the gangs.

Meanwhile, elections and constitutional reforms are announced—measures that are impossible to realize under gang control. At the same time, Dominican president Luis Abinader intensifies the mass, arbitrary deportation of Haitians, reinforcing structural racism, xenophobia, and exclusion. These expulsions and hate campaigns violate fundamental rights and deepen Haiti’s isolation in a moment of profound social and political crisis.

Behind this crisis looms another threat: extractivism. Under the shadow of U.S. military pressure on the continent, one of the main strategies to weaken the Haitian nation lies in the plunder of strategic mineral resources, known as “rare earths.” These resources, coveted by imperialist powers, are being looted with the complicity of the Haitian state, while insecurity is deliberately used as a tool to enable extraction without resistance. The silence is deafening—neither the government, nor the press, nor even sectors and governments that call themselves progressive have denounced what is happening.

In this context, ALBA Movements and the International Peoples’ Assembly, together with Haitian grassroots organizations, issue an urgent international call: break the media blockade, expose this reality, and unite in denouncing these operations of domination.

International solidarity with Haiti cannot be postponed. It is our task today to support its people in their resistance, to defend their right to live with dignity, and to accompany their struggle against violence, racism, and imperialist domination.
