We stand with Palestine. Resistance can’t be blocked!

The International People’s Assembly stands with the Palestinian people against the reinforced blockade in Gaza announced by the government of Zionist occupation. This new measure is another means of punishing the Palestinian people with an even more cruel and total blockade that will prevent entry of food and water in order to break the organized resistance against apartheid, occupation and oppression. We call on progressive and revolutionary forces around the world to denounce this reinforced blockade and organize actions in solidarity with the people of Gaza.

“We are putting a complete siege on Gaza … No electricity, no food, no water, no gas – it’s all closed,” said the head of the occupation army. This is an escalation of the already existing blockade that has been in place since 2007, which made of Gaza the world’s largest open-air prison with a population of 2.3 million people held hostage by Zionism. This total blockade and military escalation by the Zionist occupation is possible because of the funding and complicity of the United States government and its European partners.

In 2018, during the Great March of Return in Gaza, Zionist snipers killed more than 250 people and wounded over 800 when they peacefully marched to the Wall that the Zionists erected around Gaza. In total, 20,000 were injured in the repression. The United Nations condemned the use of extreme force by Zionist forces against the peaceful protesters. When a government employs murderous violence to prevent an oppressed people from using non-violent forms of struggle it inevitably leads to the use of armed resistance. That’s what we are witnessing today.

As people’s movements, trade unions and left political parties of all continents we stand firmly in solidarity with the people of Palestine in their struggle for national liberation and affirm that no blockade can break their heroic resistance!
