Dilemmas of Humanity Conference is added to the Let Cuba Live Campaign
From the III Conference of Dilemmas of Humanity, the more than 500 delegates of social and popular organizations of the world joined the call made by ALBA Movements, together with the AIP, the São Paulo Forum, the Trade Union Confederation of the Americas, the Continental Day for Democracy and Against Neoliberalism, the World March of Women, the Latin American and Caribbean Continental Network in Solidarity with Cuba, and La Via Campesina, to collect one million signatures with the objective of removing Cuba from the list of countries that are on the list of states in solidarity with Cuba, and La Via Campesina, the World March of Women, the Latin American and Caribbean Continental Network in Solidarity with Cuba, and La Via Campesina, to collect one million signatures with the aim of removing Cuba from the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism in which it is unjustly included by decision of former President Donald Trump.
The collection of one million signatures is a political and symbolic act that seeks to reach the hands of President Biden so that he removes Cuba from the list, as his duties as President of the United States allow. Neither the economic blockade nor any other measure of this kind will succeed in defeating the sovereignty and self-determination of the Cuban people. His strength and humanism are testimony to the achievements of his social project, and he continues to be a reference for the peoples who struggle for justice and peace. We welcome the election of Cuba to the United Nations Human Rights Council.
The fact that Cuba is included in the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism dramatically deepens the effects of the unilateral blockade imposed by the United States against the Cuban people, which constitutes a hostile policy aimed at suffocating and isolating the Cuban people. To date, more than 366,000 people from different countries around the world have added their signatures expressing their solidarity with the island. We express our full commitment to the dissemination and strengthening of this campaign, inside and outside our organizations, inside and outside our countries.
