Call for action: Stop the war, end the Massacres and express solidarity with the Sudanese people

The International Peoples’ Assembly (IPA) and Pan Africanism Today (PAT) strongly condemn the brutal massacres currently unfolding in Sudan, including in the cities of El-Fasher and Bara, and across the regions of Darfur and Kordofan. We stand with the Sudanese people facing systematic violence, mass displacement, executions, and terror against civilians under the hands of armed forces acting with complete impunity. This brutal war is not merely a humanitarian crisis; it is a genocide.

What the world is witnessing today is not a tragedy born of chaos, it is the continuation of a historic pattern of counter-revolutionary violence, ethnic targeting, and state-enabled paramilitary terror. This conflict is also fueled by regional and international powers – such as the tycoons of the United Arab Emirates – seeking to fracture Sudan, plunder its resources, and weaken its sovereignty.

Today, the Sudanese people face a destructive war machine, defending their dignity, communities, and right to live.

The IPA and PAT join the voices of the Sudanese people and their democratic forces in demanding urgent international mobilization and concrete action:

  • Immediate ceasefire and opening of secure humanitarian corridors to El-Fasher, Bara, and all affected regions.
  • Protection of civilians and immediate deployment of independent mechanisms to ensure safe delivery of aid.
  • Impartial international investigation into war crimes and crimes against humanity, and prosecution of all responsible; political, military, and financial.
  • End all political, logistical, and military support for forces committing atrocities in Sudan.
  • Sanctions against those responsible for human rights violations and the supply chains enabling their violence, including arms embargoes.

We call upon trade unions, peasant organizations, women’s movements, youth, progressive governments, social movements, and all forces of peace and justice around the world to:

  • Publicly express political solidarity: Amplify the Sudanese people’s struggle against militarism and expose the destructive role of the SAF, RSF, and their external backers. This includes issuing organisational statements, declarations, and speeches.
  • Mobilise for coordinated actions: Organise unified political actions, street protests, and demonstrations calling for an immediate and lasting ceasefire, unrestricted humanitarian access, and a return to a people-centred, democratic transition.
  • Host educational events: Organise teach-ins and seminars that critically engage with the root causes of the conflict, the Sudanese Revolution and the demands of the civilian democratic movement (such as the Resistance Committees).
  • Promote artistic and cultural expressions of solidarity: Encourage artists, musicians, performers, and cultural workers to create and share works that amplify the resilience of the Sudanese people.
  • Create moments of agitation and disruption: Call for bold actions that challenge global indifference, such as picketing at embassies of countries backing the warring factions, to draw urgent public attention to the crisis.
  • Integrate solidarity into existing actions: Incorporate solidarity with Sudan into general assemblies, public meetings, anti-war protests, educational seminars, ensuring that the Sudanese people’s demands are central to our broader struggle for justice.

We affirm the steadfast struggle of the Sudanese people and their democratic, revolutionary forces who continue to mobilize for a civilian, democratic, and socially just Sudan. Their fight is part of the global struggle against militarism, capitalism, racism, and imperialism, and for peoples’ self-determination and dignity.

The blood of the victims cannot be met with silence. The world must not look away.

Stop the massacres, open humanitarian corridors and hold the criminals accountable.

Justice, peace, and sovereignty for the Sudanese people.
