ALBA Movements alongside the Venezuelan people stand with President Nicolás Maduro
On January 10, people around the world join the brave Venezuelan people in celebrating the inauguration of Nicolás Maduro as President of Venezuela. This follows his electoral victory last July when 6.5 million Venezuelans once again chose him to lead the Bolivarian project, deepen the Revolution, and guide the homeland of Bolívar and Chávez on the path of sovereignty, peace, and self-determination.
The new triumph of the Bolivarian Revolution and the legacy of Commander Chávez, as always, has sparked the fury of the powerful global elite. With microphones and cameras of the mainstream media fully engaged – the same ones that hypocritically remain silent in the face of the genocide committed by Israel’s terrorist state against the Palestinian people – and through control of digital algorithms and even financing mercenaries to smuggle weapons into Venezuela to incite violence, they seek to impose a false narrative about what is happening in Bolívar’s homeland. Once again, they dream of overthrowing the Revolution and reclaiming Venezuela’s wealth to fill their capitalist coffers.
One only needs to see who greets the pitiful figure of Edmundo González with open arms during his “Latin American tour” – a Guaidó 2.0 – to know which side of history to stand on. Embracing the likes of Milei, Lacalle Pou, Luis Abinader, José Raúl Mulino, or Joe Biden can only inspire embarrassment and incomprehension. True patriots of Nuestra América (Our America) speak the language of dignity, not that of servile puppets bowing to the powers that be. As Commander Chávez said, “There are many people and much history here,” far too meaningful to allow the humiliating spectacle led by the newly self-proclaimed president.
Let us not be deceived. The rage of humanity’s enemies – enemies of life and peace – stems from one reason: they cannot tolerate that this people of Nuestra América, who have raised their flags time and again, continue to choose, sovereignly and democratically, a Revolution that upholds the banners of communal socialism on a continent they consider their backyard. That is the source of their anger and resentment. And it is with that fire of pride that, from Nuestra América to Palestine, we will defend our Bolivarian Venezuela and, with it, the sovereign and courageous project of our Pátria Grande (Great Homeland).
Defenders of imperialism, friends of death, seem not to have understood this, despite the numerous battles we have won. However, as the Venezuelan people say, “Whoever messes with Venezuela dries up.” History – meaning the conscious and organized action of our peoples – will ensure they are placed where they belong: alongside the hypocrites who defend a servile imperialist project in this sacred land of Latin America and the Caribbean.
As ALBA Movements, we know our place is to celebrate alongside the brave Venezuelan people, their day of inauguration, their reaffirmation in Miraflores, their role in history, and their courage in continuing to be a beacon of hope for the peoples of our region. From the plains, seas, and mountains of Venezuela, where the Liberator Simón Bolívar, Commander Chávez, and President Nicolás Maduro Moros were born, we remain steadfast.
The peoples of the world stand with Nicolás Maduro! Let’s celebrate!
